Snowflake Obsidian Crystal Sphere Polished Root Chakra
White snowflake-like markings stand out against black volcanic glass in these polished Snowflake Obsidian spheres. Their smooth, rounded surfaces reveal the individual arrangement of pale patterns from different angles. Two individually photographed pieces are available, each listed by weight and diameter for exact-piece selection.
Metaphysical Properties
In crystal traditions, Snowflake Obsidian is associated with grounding, protection, purity, balance, and honest self-reflection. Its contrasting markings can serve as a visual focus for journaling or meditation on recurring patterns and intentions around change. Sphere shapes are traditionally associated with harmony and an even distribution of energy.
Chakra Associations
Snowflake Obsidian is traditionally linked with the Root Chakra for stability and grounding, and the Third Eye Chakra for insight and self-reflection.
Formation & Fun Facts
Obsidian is naturally occurring volcanic glass rather than a single crystalline mineral. Pale clusters of cristobalite, a form of silica, create the snowflake-like markings within the glass. These genuine Snowflake Obsidian pieces have natural black coloring and white patterning and have been shaped and polished into spheres. Obsidian has a Mohs hardness of approximately 5–5.5 and is brittle, so it can chip or crack if dropped.
Crystal Companions
Pair with black tourmaline for traditional grounding and protection associations, amethyst for spiritual reflection and Third Eye traditions, or clear quartz for amplification and intention-setting rituals.

Crystal Care
Dust with a soft cloth. If needed, wipe gently with a lightly damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Avoid harsh cleaners, sudden temperature changes, scratches, and impacts. Use a secure sphere stand or padded support on a stable surface to prevent rolling, and keep away from edges. Store separately from harder materials. Sound can be included in a water-free cleansing ritual.
